Try and switch to one of these sustainable diets if you haven't already!

Planetary Health Diet
The EAT-Lancet Commission, a group of 37 scientists created the Planetary Health Diet in 2019. This diet consists of little seafood and poultry, little to no red meat, added sugar, refined grains, and starchy vegetables. The goal is to double the intake of fruits, vegetables, nuts, and legumes, and half the consumption of red meat and added sugar. This would decrease the amount greenhouse gas emissions from livestock.

Mediterranean Diet
This diet consists of daily servings of beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, grains, which can be bought in bulk to avoid excess packaging, and vegetables and fruit, which can be bought locally without packaging. A few times a week, seafood, dairy, eggs, and poultry can be consumed. Lastly, red meats and sweets can be consumed in small amounts, which can be purchased less often and sustainably.

Vegetarian or Vegan Diet
A vegetarian does not eat meat, poultry, and seafood, so they use less natural resources to get their food. A vegan can't eat any meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, dairy, and honey. A plant-based diet requires about half the land to produce and emits half the greenhouse gasses than the average American. There are many plant-based and healthier options for those who enjoy eating meat and are trying to stop or reduce.
